What Are The Contraindications?
Do not take Restylane® if you…
- Are allergic to lidocaine or any of the gram-positive bacterial proteins used to make hyaluronic acid.
- Are prone to bleeding or have been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder.
- Have had severe allergies with a history of severe reactions (anaphylaxis).
Does The Procedure Hurt?

What Are Possible Side Effects?
The most commonly observed side effects are swelling, redness, pain, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site. With all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.
How Long Is It Indicated?
Restylane® L is FDA indicated for treatment improvements lasting 6-9 months with one treatment. When retreated at month 4 OR month 9, the FDA indication for treatment improvement extends to 18 months.
Restylane® Refyne, Contour, and Kysse all have FDA indications for treatment improvements lasting up-to 1 year.
Restylane® Lyft is FDA indicated for treatment of cheek volume improvements lasting up-to 1 year.
Restylane® Silk is FDA indicated for treatment improvements lasting 6-9 months.
